MoU Signing between FUI and WHO

It is to share with immense pleasure that Foundation University Islamabad (FUI) and World Health Organization (WHO) have joined hands to pursue shared objectives in advancing Universal Health Coverage in Pakistan. This partnership aligns with the mandates, expertise, and strengths of both institutions. Key areas of cooperation include the implementation of the Labor Care Guide, revision of Pre-Service Curricula, capacity building, and joint participation in various events.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at the WHO Country Office in Islamabad. Maj Gen Imran Fazal (Retd), HI (M), Director FUSH, signed on behalf of FUI, while Dr. Luo Dapeng represented WHO. The FUI delegation included Maj Gen Mahmood Sultan (Retd), HI (M), Commandant FFH; Col. Rana Rashid (Retd), GM Admin FUSH; Brig. Prof. Dr. Naila Azam (Retd), HOD Community Medicine FUMC; and Dr. Sarah Bakhsh, Resident FCPS Community Medicine, FUMC. From WHO, the ceremony was attended by Ellen Thom, Technical Officer Reproductive Health; Dr. Qudsia Uzma, Technical Officer RMNCAH; Dr. Sayema Awais, Program Officer MNCH; and Ms. Sadia Iqbal, Resource Mobilization Officer.
