A seminar on "Exploring the Neurosciences of Addiction" was held on November 29, 2023. It provided a comprehensive exploration of the intricate relationship between neuroscience and addiction. The seminar was attended by about 150 participants, including faculty members, BS, and MS Psychology students. Mr.Fazal Wahid delivered an insightful keynote address, providing an overview of the current state of research in neurosciences related to addiction.
The Professional Development Center (PDC) and Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) partnered with the Career Pakistan’s Talk World Program to conduct the session titled “Challenges and Opportunities for Fresh Graduates in Pakistan”. The session held on 23rd Nov, 2023 aimed to shed light on the unique challenges faced by recent graduates in Pakistan's dynamic job market and explore potential opportunities for their professional growth.
Foundation University Business Incubation Center (FUBIC) hosted Mr. Muhammad Rauf Raja (Secretary of International Tourism, CEO Brain Designer UK & Pakistan (FUBIC’s Alumni)) as a guest speaker in a session on "Role of Youth in Tourism & Hospitality Sector" held on 23rd November 2023 at FUSST.
In vision to equip our students with the skills and mindset necessary to excel both personally and professionally, the Professional Development Center (PDC) and Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) steered a comprehensive training program for the graduating students of FUSST. The training program comprised eight modules carefully curated to instill strong ethical values, goal-oriented thinking, and the motivation needed to embark on successful careers. Faculty of Management science students were the pioneer batch who received the complete training in the span of eight weeks.
Free Counseling Camp was arranged by the Department of Psychology on 23rd Nov. 2023. A team of six faculty members including Prof. Dr. Iffat Rohail, Dr. Urwa Ali, Amna Ijaz, Tayyab Ali, Faiza Nisar and Meharwish Deepnaz supervised their MS Clinical Psychology Students to take counseling and assessment sessions of students in various booths that were arranged in the Basketball Court, FUSST. Some senior students from BS also participated voluntarily. The activity started at 09:30 am, with the inauguration and ribbon cutting ceremony by Brig. Dr.
Assistant Prof Dr. Tafseer Abbas, a dedicated member of our DME faculty, has clinched the 2 nd place in the Children's category for his book Hazoor (SAW) Talaba Kae Darmian, in the prestigious National Awards by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Pakistan. This is a testament to his consistent excellence, as he has been receiving this esteemed award since 2015. Our warmest congratulations to Dr. Tafseer Abbas for his significant contributions to children's literature!

Prof Dr Irfan Shukr, a Prominent Surgeon and Medical Educationist, Head of Department (DME), secured the 3 rd place with his remarkable work “A Virtual Day of the Prophet of All Times Muhammad (PBUH)” in the English category.
We were honored to host Dr. Faizan Ali, a delegate from the University of South Florida (USF), on Nov 10, 2023, at FUI. The day was filled with insightful discussions and promises of academic partnership!

The session was very informative and designed to train startups with the knowledge and tools they need to build and grow their sales efforts effectively, establish a strong foundation for sales generation and improve their chances of success in the competitive business landscape.
