FCPS Mock Examination Course (Haematology)

FCPS part II Mock Examination Course (Haematology) was held at FUMC on 28th Dec 2022 as part of CPD/CME activity in Foundation University Islamabad. It was accredited for 3 contact hours by PMC.

The Mock Examination Course was organized by Professor Brig (R) Tariq Sarfraz, SI (M), Consultant Histopathologist & Head of Pathology Department and Professor Lubna Zafar consultant hematologist Foundation University Medical College, Islamabad.  

The organizing committee included Prof Brig (R) Dr. Tariq Sarfraz, SI (M), Professor Lubna Zafar, Dr Madeeha Rehan and Dr. Attika Khalid (Focal person).

The course was attended by a total number of 25 candidates. The participants were from different cities of the country, including Rawalpindi / Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Multan and Quetta.  

The Mock Examination Course addressed all the contents of FCPS (Haematology) Examinations, including morphology cases, coagulation, transfusion and OSPEs.

On the day of Mock Examination Course (28th Dec 2022), in the first morning session, the participants were given 16 morphology cases to see, make their diagnoses and report writing. Six interpretative dry cases for coagulation and transfusion and three OSPE stations were arranged. Microscopes were provided to all the participants. After a short tea break, the “Discussion Session” on the provided cases was done.

The candidates highly appreciated this full-dress rehearsal of the actual examination, organized by the pathology department in a very comprehensive manner and learnt a lot from this very valuable academic activity. The candidates were told that the CPD / CME Certificates will be sent to their postal address.

The day ended with lots of positive energy and enthusiasm. The participants really liked this academic activity and their feedback was very positive and encouraging for the department.
