The domain of the Department of Quality Assurance (DQA) also includes the accreditation related matters of its academic programmes. As per advice of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), the Parents and Students should confirm accreditation of degree programmes with their respective accreditation bodies before admission notice.
Accreditation is an external quality assurance mechanism, that seeks adherence to pre-defined standards/criteria/guidelines by an accreditation council, with respect to the degree programmes within its domain, through a holistic accreditation process.
The accreditation section of DQA assures that all the undergraduate level programmes of FUI are accredited by their respective accreditation councils. All the academic programmes at FUI are accredited with their respective accreditation councils in Pakistan i.e., Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC), Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC), National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC) & National Business Education Accreditation Council (NBEAC) and National Technology Council (NTC).
As per the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) at HEC, at present there exist 14 recognized accreditation councils in Pakistan. Out of these 14 councils, five (5) accreditation councils were established by HEC. At FUI, as highlighted above, the degree programmes under the purview of accreditation councils comes under the following Six (6) accreditation bodies.
In spirit of adhering to international standards, FUI also aims at International Accreditation bodies. The rationale behind this also includes the lack of regional accreditation bodies for certain degree programmes, including Physical Therapy related programmes at Undergraduate level. In this respect, FUI aims at World Physiotheraphy.
