TRAINING OF MASTER TRAINERS (TOT) " KHUD KO PEHCHANO" YOUTH AWARENESS PROJECT - PUNJAB POPULATION INNOVATION FUND ( PPIF) BY GREEN STAR SOCIAL MARKETING(GSM) COMMUNITY MEDICINE DEPARTMENT, FUMC, FUSH

The Community Medicine Department under the leadership of Brig Prof Dr. Naila Azam organized training of Master trainers on “ Khud Ko Pehchano” project in collaboration with Greenstar Social Marketing (GSM) on Monday  24th Oct 2022 from 1000hrs-1500hrs in Committee room FUSH. Dr. Tahira Amjad, Assoc Prof Community medicine from FUSH was the focal person of Foundation University Islamabad, to do all the necessary coordination with FUI secretariat and GSM, and to facilitate the execution of this project for both the FUI campuses. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) had been signed by FUI and GSM for jointly implementing this youth awareness program at FUI. The aim of this program is to create social awareness of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Pre-marital counselling, Healthy Timing and Birth Spacing (HTSP), Family planning methods, Gender-based violence, and mitigation strategies.

In order to achieve the target of the project,  Training of Master Trainers (TOT) as a part of " Khud Ko Pehchano" Project, 40 nominated faculty members from both FUSH and FUSST campuses were formerly trained as master trainers. They will further conduct trickle-down training of 800 FUI students by Feb 2023. The training   was led by CEO GSM and his team including the Manager KKP project and GSM Technical expert. It started with a brief introduction of the project, followed by a pretest. Besides the training on above mentioned topics, the Seed funding and Mentorship Program was also introduced. The training was interactive and very participatory with sharing of experiences and ideas. CEO GSM and his team applauded the role of Community Medicine Department and the dedication of faculty towards this program as a community service.  Also appreciated the FUI stance to enhance and sustain such activities and collaboration for Sexual and Reproductive Health of the youth. The session concluded with a  Posttest, certificate distribution and group photo with Master trainer’s pledged to stay committed  to “Khud Ko Pehchano” project and achieve the target of training 800 FUI students.
