One Day Training Workshop for Program Team (PT) Members on “Self-Assessment Report (SAR) Writing”

Department of Quality Assurance (DQA) organized a one-day training workshop on “Self-Assessment Report (SAR) Writing” for Program Team Members of different academic departments on September 29, 2021. Ms. Fareena Iqbal, Ex-Director QEC, Pakistan Institute of Development Studies (PIDE) was the resource person. She highlighted the concept of self-assessment, its importance in enhancing learning outcomes, and the development of academic institutes. She elaborated on the process & objectives of self-assessment and the role of Program and Assessment Teams. Furthermore, she explained in detail the criteria and standards of the HEC Self-Assessment Manual required to complete the SAR. The participants took a keen interest in the workshop and asked various relevant questions regarding the role of self-assessment exercise in improving curriculum, modernization of the academic programs, student services, achieving learning objectives, and faculty well-being. The Rector FUI, Maj Gen (R) Nasir Dilawar Shah in his closing remarks appreciated the effort of DQA for the arrangement of the training workshop and expressed to continuously extend full support to improve the quality of education and research at Foundation University Islamabad.
