FUI Faculty in HEC Capacity Building Program (Phase-4)
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) in collaboration with the British Council (BC), under its programme titled “Pak-UK Education Gateway”, organized a four day “Researcher’s Capacity Building Program” on August 2-5, 2022 for the selected researchers whose NRPU Projects couldn't be approved for funding. The resource persons were Prof. Elena Gaura and Prof. James Brusey from Coventry University, UK. Dr. Hira Ashraf from FUMC and Dr. Usman Ahmed from FUCD&H were nominated by Director FUSH whereas Dr. Nazima Ellahi and Dr. Muhammad Awais from FMS were nominated by Pro-Rector / Director FUSST, to participate in the first phase of the subject training program The core objective of the programme was to build capacity of Researchers by driving up quality of research proposals, promoting multi-disciplinarily, securing more research grants, and managing grants more effectively. The 4-day training programme consisted of informative discussions, interactive sessions and presentations by the participants. The trainers equipped the participants with skills and tools to write effective and grant winning proposal and provided deep insight into resourcing and costing of the research grant.It is important to mention that the project presented by Dr. Hira Ashraf was nominated as the best project and won the hypothetical funding. The trainers highly appreciated the project proposal and advised to formally submit the project to HEC in upcoming call for funding.
