Plantation Drive-Clean Green Pakistan

Department of Community Medicine, Foundation University School of Health Sciences, organized a tree plantation drive, as a part of World Health Day activities for the year 2022. It was a two-day event, held on 10th and 11th of March, 2022. This year the WHO slogan for the world health day is “Our Planet Our Health.” Throwing emphasis on it, a tree plantation drive was specially arranged for 4th year MBBS students as an extracurricular activity. However, faculties of Community Medicine and other departments, students of other years of MBBS and some guests also participated enthusiastically. The first tree was planted by Brig. Prof. Dr. Naila Azam (Rtd), HOD, Community Medicine, FUSH.

A total of 64 saplings were planted in two locations, the green areas between Gate 2 and gate 3 and close to gate 4. Assorted species were chosen. Some were ornamental plants like Palm, Champa, Rose, Jasmine and Shakira while some were fruit and shade trees of Plum, Apricot, Fig, Guava, Loquat, Mountain Ebony, Drake and Oriental Plane.

The remaining students were advised to continue this activity by planting at home. This vibrant event filled us with a jubilant spirit and sent out a message to take care of our mother planet, Earth.

Special thanks to Administration, FUSH.
